The beginning
As most of you know I have been seeing a knee doctor for several years. Until I am healthy enough to get a knee replacement, i've been getting cortisone shots every 4-6 months.
I've been having trouble getting in to my normal knee doctor so my mom convinced me to see her knee doctor. He had immediate openings.
He was wonderful, kind, and helpful. He suggested I see a weight specialist to get me to a point where I can safely have surgery. I agreed and the referral was sent.
A few weeks went by and I had my appointment. I never did meet the doctor herself, but met with her nurse practitioner. Her name is Stephanie. I'm convinced she saved my life. She is convinced it was because of my honesty that my life was saved. That's debatable.
After my initial assessment she told me she was almost 100% positive I had PCOS. We went through the symptoms and I literally had every one of them. Please look up PCOS. It's an awful condition. We now know I've had it since I hit puberty.
She started me on Ozempic and I went home with an appointment 4 weeks later...
